The Port of Long Beach, California Hosted IDI Delegates with a Port Visit and Business Matchmaking
The delegation visit was made more eventful with a productive visit and business matchmaking hosted by the Port of Long Beach, situated right next to the Port of Los Angeles, on March 9, 2023. The participants include the 34 Cambodian delegates, Executives from the Port of Long Beach, business owners and buyers. The program highlighted special update on the port and its operation by Dr. Noel Hacegaba, Deputy Executive Director of the port of Long Beach, followed by an overview of IDI and the delegation members’ respective businesses. The program also provided an opportunity for the participants showcase their products as they mingled around and exchanged points of contact for follow-up discussions.
The Port of Long Beach is currently the 3rd busiest port in the United States of America, after the 1st and 2nd place namely the Port of Los Angeles and the Port of New York/New Jersey. Long Beach port has a total whopping of $200 billion in trade which creates 2.6 million jobs nationally, and 575,000 jobs in Southern California.
About the Program:
Organized by Innovation & Development Investors Association (IDI) in collaboration with the Royal Honorary Consulate General of Cambodia to Long Beach, California, ID Capital Plc. (IDC), Khmer Enterprise (KE) and the American Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (AmCham), the Cambodian Delegation Visit to the United States on 7-13 March 2023 provides an opportunity for the delegation members to participate in the 41st industry’s largest trade show in Anaheim, California, USA, entitled “Natural Products Expo West” which is a marketplace for over 2,700 exhibitors and over 57,000 registered attendee around the globe to engage, experience and exchange business through the face-to-face exhibition. On top of attending the expo, a visit to the Port of Los Angeles to understand port process and gain exchange points of contact, followed by a closed-door business matchmaking with potential US buyers makes the visit agenda.
